Poem | Who is not a beggar?
69A street beggar
With shabby cloth,
Filthy hair and untidy beard,
Was begging money.
Some passers by
Were throwing some coins,
And others were flying
Ignoring the existence
Of the dirty man.
I approached him,
And gave a coin,
And also through,
Some free advice:
“Why are you begging?
Be ashamed of
For what you are doing.
Try to get a job,
Earn your bread.”
The man stared at me,
Then whispered,
“Who is not a beggar?
I only beg
To earn my own bread!
But you people?
The biggest beggar!
You beg for wealth,
You beg for health,
Beg for power,
And everything,
You need or do not need!
Even God is fed up,
With your blatant act!
You want to grasp
All that you can get,
But don’t know that
God has set the destiny,
For you as well as me!”

Wonderful writing, so simply put together...
This poem is a powerful message about acceptance of others and a huge reminder to search ourselves for our own motives concerning what we're doing in life, cupid51. Voted up - this is awesome!
